Knitting with a loom

Desktop15If you ever get tired of knitting with needles, maybe you can try to knit with a loom. Until this morning I thought  you only could knit infinity scarfs, hats and basically long tubes with a knitting loom..but no. Look at these pictures; it’s even possible to knit blankets and cables. You can find patterns for the red/blue blanket, the bear cowl, and the pink/green blanket on Ravelry. You can find more information about the “mittens” on the blog Gettin’ it Pegged.

Unfortunately it seems like the patterns are quite expensive to buy, but I don’t think it’s that difficult to figure out basic patterns on your own. There are many videos on Youtube with instructions, that are for free 🙂

Have you tried to knit with a loom?

Tuesday knit night

IMG_7394I brought my camera to tonight’s knit night because I wanted to take some pictures of all the things we knit. But now I realize that I took pictures of pretty much everything else. As an excuse, I think this shows that knit nights are not only about knitting, it’s so much more.. like hot chocolate, cake, really cute macarons, cats and really nice company.
